Senator Dianne Feinstein - San Francisco
Normally I'll stick with illigel aliens crossing our borders and their distructive behavior but in this case please forgive me.

A visibly upset U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-San Francisco) laced into today's U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Washington, D.C.'s gun ban.Speaking during a meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee, California's senior senator expressed bitter disappointment in the decision, saying the 5-4 ruling will make less safe the entire nation, not just the District of Columbia."I speak as a former mayor. I speak as somebody who has gone to homicide crime scenes," Feinstein said. "I speak as somebody who (has) lost a youngster that I mentored, who killed himself by playing Russian roulette with a weapon he found. I speak as somebody who authorized assault weapons legislation, who believes that it was working when it was allowed to expire.... I think this is a monumental decision. I am profoundly disappointed in Justice Roberts and Justice Alito, both of whom assured us about their respect for precedent."

BATTLE FOR THE STATE LEGISLATURE
One of the most intriguing aspects to the 2008 election cycle are the state legislative races pitting moderate v conservative Republicans. On the outside, this might look like a bad deal for the GOP, but in all reality, it is not bad at all.

Doing the Impossible, Minutemen Say, "We're Not Gonna Stop"!
The Supreme Court spoke loud and clear confirming two years of Minuteman efforts and donations by clearing the way for Border Fencing on the U.S. Mexico. Justices declined without comment to hear a petition from 14 Democrats with the open border lobby in Congress and a group of law professors hiding behind environmental issues submitted by Defenders of Wildlife and the Sierra Club. The ruling allows the Department of Homeland Security to continue border fence construction.
The Fences built by the Minutemen have been a driving force compelling the federal government to act, and the ranchers along the border in Arizona say it well, "The government wasn't doing anything until the Minutemen showed up." Minutemen must continue to keep the pressure on and make the federal government actually "BUILD IT"—talk is cheap, and a complete fence along the entire border is needed.

New law brings U.S.style trials to Mexican courts
The Washington Post
MEXICO CITY — President Felipe Calderón on Tuesday signed legislation designed to fundamentally change Mexico's much-criticized justice system by allowing U.S.-style oral trials and establishing a presumption of innocence for criminal defendants.

A personal note: In my opinion one of the reasons for illegal immigration is deficiencies in the unlawful migrant’s country.
Big surprise right?
I included this story because one less reason for crossing our border illegally has been signed into Mexican law. Now we’ll wait and see if the courts in our southern neighbor can adapt to the new courts procedure.

"Well, look ... first of all, I am not vetting my vice presidential search committee for their mortgages," Obama said. "I mean this is a game that can be played -- everybody you know who is anybody who is tangentially related to our campaign I think is going to have a whole host of relationships. I would have to hire the vetter to vet the vetters. I mean at some point you know we just asked people to do their assignments.
