Below is information about the southern border fence. Before your collective eyes roll up (too far) the Senate on a voice vote yesterday authorized 600 million more, not for ‘The Fence’ but agents and hardware. GIVE ME A BREAK! With that 600 mil, 460 more miles of double layer fence can be built. ‘If you voted for Obama, you voted for this stupidity.

The Senate agreed Thursday to add $600 million to the effort to stop the flow of illegal immigrants across the U.S. Mexican border.

The money would be used for such purposes as adding 1,500 new enforcement agents and deploying unmanned aerial drones to improve border surveillance.
The voice vote to pass the emergency spending came in the final hours before the Senate leaves for its monthlong summer break. Its sponsor, Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer of New York, said it would boost border spending 10 percent above 2010 levels. Read More

According to staff at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), only 34.3 miles double-layer fencing has been completed along the Southern border. Most of that fencing, 13.5 miles, is in Texas, while 11.8 miles are in California and 9.1 miles of double-layer fencing are up in Arizona. Read more from Jim Demint
