Border agents catch13 illegal immigrants all wearing marine uniforms 'embroidered with the name 'Perez' Border patrol agents have caught 13 illegal immigrants wearing U.S. Marine uniforms at  checkpoint near San Diego.  The immigrants were in a van that was stopped along Interstate 8 on March 14. The
van had a U.S. government license plate with an altered number, Border Patrol spokesman Michael Jimenez said.  He did not know where the group obtained the military uniforms.
Fake plates: The registration actually belongs to a van owned by the U.S. government.  'This effort is an example of the lengths smugglers will go through to avoid detection, and the skilled
and effective police work of the agents and the customs and border protection,' he said. Two U.S. citizens who were with the immigrants were arrested on suspicion of alien smuggling.  Three of
the immigrants were being held in federal custody as witnesses and the others ere returned to Mexico, their country of origin, he said.  The Naval Criminal Investigative Service and order Patrol were conducting a joint investigation of the incident. NCIS spokesman Ed Buice said he couldn't discuss details, but 'there are several obvious questions that need to be answered 'It is not known if the two U.S. Citizens who were arrested have been it the military.officials believe the van the U.S. Calexico the vicle is registered in Yucca Valley California. The fake number plates actually belong to a van registered to the .S. Marine Corps.

Missouri legislators, wary of Islamic law, propose banning it

By JASON NOBLE
The Star’s Jefferson City correspondent
JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri Reps. Paul Curtman and Don Wells agree there’s no evidence that state courts are judging cases based on Islamic principles or foreign laws.
But that’s not stopping them from sponsoring legislation to ban the practice.  Bills introduced this year by the Republican lawmakers aim to prevent Missouri courts from  applying laws from other countries or those based on Sharia, the Islamic religious
But that’s not stopping them from sponsoring legislation to ban the practice.

“Right now in the world, there is a big push for international law or Sharia law to be practiced and accepted,” Wells said. This is problematic because Islamic law is “very oppressive for ladies” and mandates violent punishments for even minor crimes, he said, citing Internet research by himself and his legislative assistant.

“Under the current SRS system Kansas taxpayers are having millions of dollars stolen from them through fraud. Perhaps worse Kansas citizens, who are footing the bill, are being denied benefits that illegal aliens are approved for. The SRS system works for the illegal aliens and the illegal aliens

Arizona regained its footing in court Friday

Arizona Regains Footing in Legal Battle Over Immigration Law
Published December 11, 2010
FoxNews.com

After suffering a major legal setback in the summer, Arizona regained its footing in court Friday when a federal judge dismissed parts of the U.S. Justice Department's challenge to the state's new immigration law and rejected several claims made by Hispanic activists and Phoenix police officers.
U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton's ruling on Friday struck down the federal government's challenge to the portion of the law that prohibits the transport of illegal immigrants.
It also rejected a challenge from Phoenix police officers and an advocacy group called Chicanos Por La Causa who argued that the cops could be sued for racial profiling if they enforced the law or lose their jobs if they didn't.
Bolton agreed with Arizona that they had no valid claim of immediate harm.
