Some of you may be wondering what Judge Roy Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall.
Please read the poem he wrote. It's behind the link above.

Immigration Enforcement In Arizona Could Toughen

By JACQUES BILLEAUD
Associated Press
As America's busiest immigrant smuggling hub, the southwestern state of Arizona has earned the distinction as a place that's tough on people who sneak across the border. That reputation would harden if the state Legislature and governor approve a proposal that would draw local authorities deeper into immigration enforcement and further reject the notion that immigration is the sole responsibility of the federal government.
The proposal, which has cleared the state Senate and is being considered by the House, would require police to try to determine people's immigration status when they have reasonable suspicions that a person doesn't have legal status.
And, if approved, Arizona would become the only state to criminalize the presence of illegal immigrants through an expansion of its trespassing law.

California's Junior Senator Barbara Boxer wins hands down the SLUG award for the week. I wonder if she would have been so bold in a Bush administration. I also wonder how long California voters will put up with inconsequential senators?
Please click on 'Tin Can Sailor' above for Senator Boxer's (real) biography.

Free Speech In Dearborn? Not This Week!

ANN ARBOR, MI – For the last five years, Pastor George Saieg and scores of his volunteers have visited Dearborn, Michigan during its annual Dearborn Arab International Festival to pass out religious literature and discuss their Christian Faith. Pastor Saieg is a Sudanese Christian, and Founder and Director of the Arabic Christian Perspective (ACP), which ministers to Muslims.
Dearborn happens to be one of the most densely populated Muslim communities in the United States. An estimated 30,000 of its 98,000 residents are Muslims.
Even though there has never been a disruption of the public peace during this Christian ministry, last week Dearborn police officials told Pastor Saieg that he and his group are prohibited

Federal District Court Judge Nancy Edmonds a 1992 appointee of George H.W. Bush refused to issue a TRO restraining the Dearborn Police Department from interfering with Pastor Saieg.

Democrat John Murtha Can Not Be Sued

WASHINGTON — A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that former Marine Corps officer Rep. John Murtha cannot be sued for accusing U.S. Marines of murdering Iraqi civilians "in cold blood," remarks that sparked outrage.

The appeals court in Washington dismissed a defamation lawsuit brought Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich of Meriden, Conn., who led the squad in the attack. The judges agreed with Murtha that he was immune from the lawsuit because he was acting in his official role as a lawmaker when he made the comments to reporters.
>snip<
At a Capitol Hill news conference in May 2006, Murtha predicted that a Pentagon war crimes investigation would show the Marines killed dozens of innocent Iraqi civilians in Haditha.
>snip<
Another Marine involved in the Haditha fighting, Justin Sharratt, a former lance corporal, Sharratt sued Murtha in September claiming the lawmaker's remarks not only defamed him, but denied him due process and the right to a fair trial on the charges in military court. Sharratt was initially charged with three counts of premeditated murder, but was exonerated after a full investigation and the military equivalent of a preliminary hearing. Sharratt said it was proven he killed insurgents, not civilians.

Semper Fi Representative Murtha! Another slug leaving a trail of slim across our lives!

Not confirmed yet but it looks like our Vice President Joe Biden will be in the Ruby Slipper state Thursday June 11th at about noon to help break ground on the US 69 Project at the 103rd Street overpass of I-435 Overland Park.

The money for the project is coming from the stimulus package of which Kansas got about $350 million, of that Overland Park gets $84 million to widen US 69.

Almost all the design work was completed when the stimulus money was awarded to Overland Park.

Obama also said he wanted the White House to handle the Press and told this man not to talk about the video or the White House visit. If true that's "VERY INTERESTING!"

Watch it now please and have a pen and pater ready. This may be the best six minutes invested in your future. No go watch and crank up the volume.

“The following is the text of the Judge Mario G. Olmos Memorial Lecture in 2001, delivered at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, by appeals court judge Sonia Sotomayor. It was published in the Spring 2002 issue of Berkeley La Raza Law Journal, a symposium issue entitled "Raising the Bar: Latino and Latina Presence in the Judiciary and the Struggle for Representation," and it is reproduced here with permission from the journal.”

The full text of the speech is 3,919 words; the much publicized
comments by Judge Sotomayor are highlighted in both versions.

Speech reduced by 75% (976 words) and gives you a snap shot of very angry & vindictive women.
