Yes, just when you thought the Obamessiah craze was waning, along comes this painting to be unveiled in NYC publicly (in Union Square) today or tomorrow. Union Square is to NYC as the steps of the Capitol in Topeka are to Kansas. I wonder how much We-The-People paid in tax $ (through the Nat'l. Council of the [so-called] Arts) to fund this latest blasphemy/Obamanation?

Thanks Kathy

Mark Parkinson Becomes Kansas’ 45th Governor
Remarks as prepared for delivery by Governor Mark Parkinson:

“At the outset, I want to congratulate Governor Sebelius: first, for her 23 years of outstanding public service to the State and second, for her confirmation as Secretary of Health and Human Services. She has served the state well and will serve both the state and country well in her new position.
“I am humbled and honored to serve as Governor of Kansas. I love this state and am excited to have the opportunity to serve during a time of real need.
“Kansas and the country face the most challenging economic struggle that we have encountered for many decades. Our economy is not growing, state revenues have plummeted and most discouraging is the real pain that Kansans have suffered. Tens of thousands of Kansans have lost their jobs, retirees have seen their accounts decline and fear is rampant.
“I am an optimist. As challenging as these times are, I want to assure all Kansans of this. We will come out of these difficult times. Kansans have been challenged throughout history and in each occasion we have not only survived, we have prospered.
“We overcame the depression, the Dust Bowls and the challenges of two World Wars. In each case, we prevailed. It is not a matter of whether we will come out of this recession; it is a matter of when. This administration will do everything we can to accelerate the inevitable turn.
“State government has a central role in turning our economy around and here are two things we will do to make this happen. First, we will balance our budget in a responsible way.
“Our immediate problem is that we have a $328 million budget shortfall. Some would suggest that we balance this budget with $328 million in budget cuts. Others would say that we should balance it with tax increases. I reject both positions. This budget hole is too deep to fill with budget cuts or revenue enhancements alone. There must be shared sacrifice. We will make responsible and modest budget cuts that will protect our investments in education and our infrastructure.
“But we need modest revenue enhancements as well. We must delay state tax cuts and protect our state from the negative impact that changes in the federal tax code will have on already plummeting revenues. The result will be a responsible and balanced state budget and no Kansan will have a tax increase.
“Second, we will unify this state. The time for typical party politics is over. The challenges are too daunting and the stakes are too high. It’s time for all of us, Republicans and Democrats, to forget about party politics. It’s time for us to do what our ancestors have done when faced with great adversity. It is time to roll up our sleeves, work hard, make the tough decisions and move forward, not as Republicans or Democrats, but as Kansans, to solve the problems we face.
“I am blessed to have a talented legislative team in President Steve Morris, Leader Anthony Hensley, Speaker of the House Mike O’Neal and Leader Paul Davis. These are four outstanding Kansans and I am confident that we will work in a bi-partisan way to turn this state around.
“When we unify, we will overcome all the challenges we face. We will get to the stars through these difficulties. There are better days ahead and we will reach that brighter tomorrow, achieving a destiny that no temporary setback can derail.
“It is with enthusiasm that I assume the position of Governor during what will be a refreshing time of astonishing renewal.”

I didn't think even the Democrats would take this slug?

Let's see how long it will take for him to leave a trail of slim across their lives?

Nancy Pelosi Briefed on Waterboarding in 2002

In Meetings, Spy Panels' Chiefs Did Not Protest, Officials Say
By Joby Warrick and Dan Eggen
Washington Post Staff Writers
Sunday, December 9, 2007
In September 2002, four members of Congress met in secret for a first look at a unique CIA program designed to wring vital information from reticent terrorism suspects in U.S. custody. For more than an hour, the bipartisan group, which included current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was given a virtual tour of the CIA's overseas detention sites and the harsh techniques interrogators had devised to try to make their prisoners talk.
Among the techniques described, said two officials present, was waterboarding, a practice that years later would be condemned as torture by Democrats and some Republicans on Capitol Hill. But on that day, no objections were raised. Instead, at least two lawmakers in the room asked the CIA to push harder, two U.S. officials said.

Ninth Circuit Holds that the 2nd Ammendment Applies to the States

NRA
Fairfax, Va. – Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (Calafornia) marked a milestone in Second Amendment history by ruling that the Second Amendment limits state and local government infringements on our right to keep and bear arms through the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. NRA has been involved in, and supportive of, this case for the past ten years and has filed several amicus briefs in the case.
The historic Heller decision was a major victory for law-abiding gun owners and recognized that the federal government could not infringe on our right to keep and bear arms,” said Chris W. Cox, NRA chief lobbyist. “Today’s decision, which applies to the states in the Ninth Circuit, ensures that the fundamental freedoms affirmed in Heller are not just limited to the residents of Washington, D.C.” Extra Information: Nordyke V. Telephone Interview with Simcox & Fox TV News

Chris Simcox founder and leader of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps has resigned in order to run against Senator John McCain of Arizona in the September 2010 primary.

Minuteman Leader Chris Simcox to Run Against McCain

McCain facing 2010 primary

Social conservatives tolerated John McCain as the party's nominee, but never trusted him, and he now appears to be facing a serious primary from the right in Arizona next year.
Chris Simcox, the founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and a prominent figure in the movement to clamp down on illegal immigration, will be announcing tomorrow at an event on the Mexican border that he's resigned from the group to run in the 2010 Senate primary.
From a forthcoming release:
"John McCain has failed miserably in his duty to secure this nation's borders and protect the people of Arizona from the escalating violence and lawlessness," Simcox said. "He has fought real efforts over the years at every turn, opting to hold our nation's border security hostage to his amnesty schemes. Coupled with his votes for reckless bailout spending and big government solutions to our nation's problems, John McCain is out of touch with everyday Arizonans. Enough is enough."

Jesus Missing From Obama's Georgetown Speech

I have tried for several days to debunk the covering of "IHS" at Georgetown Univerisity in Washington D.C. ordered by White House staffers prior to President Obama's speech but have not been able to do so. You be the judge!

>>>>><<<<<
Georgetown, which is run by the Jesuit order, is one of the most prestigious Catholic institutions of higher education in the United States. Roman Catholics traditionally use "IHS" as an abbreviation for Jesus' name. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, "St. Ignatius of Loyola adopted the monogram in his seal as general of the Society of Jesus (1541) and thus became the emblem of his institute." The Society of Jesus is the formal name for the Jesuits

Julie Bataille from the university's press office e-mailed that the White House had asked that all university signage and symbols behind the stage in Gaston Hall be covered.

Another Look at Kathleen Sebelius by Jack Cashill

by Jack Cashill
Published in WorldNetDaily.com
April 16, 2009
Calling it an “inadvertent omission”—a phrase that rings about as true in confirmation circles as “wardrobe malfunction”-- Democratic Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius (at left) fessed up on Tuesday.
The Kansas governor conceded that through her PAC and her campaign, she has cashed not the reported $12,450 in checks from the nation’s most notorious late term abortionist, Dr. George Tiller, but some $40,000.
>snip<
“Morrison” refers to Paul Morrison, a popular Johnson County District Attorney. With Tiller’s massive financial support at the ready, Sebelius had persuaded Morrison to switch parties and run as a Democrat against Kline.
The $40,000 Sebelius got from Tiller is pocket change compared to the money Sebelius helped finesse into the campaign against the heroic, hard charging Kline.
Tiller would eventually put up an estimated $1.2 million to successfully unseat Kline, almost all of it through various PACs and cut-outs.

The Thomas More Law Center announced today that is has filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Department of Homeland Security demanding to know the basis for their recent intelligence assessment targeting as “rightwing extremists” those who oppose abortion, gun control, lax immigration laws, and a myriad of other policies supported by President Obama’s administration. The Law Center filed its request after consultation with conservative talk show host Michael Savage. ABC's 20-20 Hypes Special on Gun Control

Diane Sawyer will host a special on 20/20 Friday evening called "If I Only Had a Gun". It looks to be extremely anti-2nd Amendment. I think we all need to stay informed about what these people are doing. It will air at 9:00pm Friday the April 10th.
Some are suggesting to make a note of which companies are advertising during the special and express your feelings to those companies or perhaps even boycott their products completely.

GMAC Returning to Subprime Lending

Automotive News
GMAC is getting back into subprime lending, agreeing to extend credit to retail customers with credit scores below 620 -- on a limited basis. These customers still will need to qualify for financing, GMAC said in its announcement. It did not specify those requirements. >snip<
In December GMAC received a $6 billion government bailout that required GM and the private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management LP to slash their stakes in GMAC. GM's stake was 49 percent and Cerberus' 51 percent.
GMAC, now a bank holding company with operations in North America, South America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, had $189 billion in assets on Dec. 31.
