Federal agents have rounded up more than 750 suspects in a wide-ranging crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating inside the United States.
More than 50 of the suspects were arrested overnight in a series of raids coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Administration aimed at capturing members of the Sinaloa cartel, blamed for a rising tide of violence in Mexico and the United States.
Another 700 suspects were arrested previously over the course of the DEA's 21-month Operation Xcellerator, officials said.

Court rules for state in American Indian land case

Voter ID This bill requires voters to show a valid photo ID that contains their name, photograph and signature before voting. A voter who does not have an ID could sign an affidavit, subject to perjury and felony, and still vote. It would be implemented in 2012 allowing for one voting cycle for voter education. Advance voting is not addressed. An amendment offered on the floor (changing the affidavit to requiring the person to cast a provisional vote) resulted in the bill being returned to the committee. A more restrictive bill was passed last year but vetoed by the (Liberal) Governor.

The League of Women Voters opposed the bill. They contend that there is no evidence of voter fraud and that putting additional requirements on voters for such a “problem,” discourages voting when we need to be encouraging voter participation.

Moore’s vote for stimulus package prompts protest outside his office

Angered by Congress’ approval of the $787 billion economic recovery plan, a crowd protested Saturday outside the Overland Park office of U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore.
Protesters held placards and chanted their disapproval of the vote by Moore, a Kansas Democrat, in favor of the relief package.
President Barack Obama signed the measure into law on Tuesday.
Overland Park police estimated the crowd on a cold and windy Saturday morning at 200 to 300 people.
The demonstration lasted about an hour, Sgt. Todd George said.

Another thing; Billy Blogger was there for an hour and a half & left to cover another event. As I was leaving more protestors were showing up so the business of the event lasting an hour, another attempt to kiss the congressman's,,, ring by the Kansas City Star.

This morning in Overland Park Kansas just out side both Kansas Cities, three or four hundred people gathered in mid to upper 20 temperatures in order to protest Congressman Dennis Moore’s ‘yes’ vote for the stimulus package.
Notables on hand were; Darla Jaye KMBZ 980 radio, Ed Hayes Heart of America Chapter Director of the Minutemen, Frances Semler and a host of just plain tax payers plus one fluffy puppy with his own message. (Click on Image to Enlarge) See Video Of The Rally (YouTube)

MCDCKC volunteers will be at Kansas Congressman Dennis Moore’s Overland Park office tomorrow February 21, 2009 at 10:00 AM to express our first amendment right to protest his support of the ‘Great Giveaway of the Twenty First Century’.
Not included in the ‘Package of Regret’ were E-Verify which will now whither on the Liberal vine March 6th, 2009.
