Frances Semler on “Jobs for Americans”

Frances Semler, former Kansas City Parks Board member writes in the Kansas City Star's "letter to the editor" today; Sunday April 11th 2010.

Jobs for Americans
The article “Optimism grows ahead of jobs report” (3/30, A1) stated that in some industries — construction in particular — job hunters outnumber job openings about 30-to-1. I assume that our lawmakers will take this into consideration before giving amnesty to 20 million illegal aliens.
I say Americans first. Americans are tired of competing with people who have come here illegally as wages go lower and lower. Amnesty will only encourage more illegal aliens coming here thinking, “If we can hide for a few years, we too will be given amnesty.”
