Immigration Officials Arrest Nearly 300 Convicted Criminals

119 illegal immigrants with criminal conviction in North Texas taken into custody.  By ASHANTI BLAIZE

Federal officials said hundreds of illegal immigrants with criminal records are off Texas streets.
The arrests were part of Operation Cross Check, the biggest operation U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has launched in the state. The largest number of arrests in the three-day operation were in the Metroplex.
"Let me tell you, these are not people that we want walking out on the streets here in Texas or living in our communities," said John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for ICE said Friday. "Criminals such as murderers, 35 individuals convicted of assault, 26 sex offenders."

>snip< Of the 284 arrested, 259 are men and 25 are women. They come from 22 different nations, including countries in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
About 35 of the 284 arrested are were deported in the past, but re-entered the country illegally. They will face federal charges with penalties up to 20 years in prison.

Link to: Congress to Consider Whether Women Should Serve on Submarines

Women On Submarines
By: Michael Belden

I read with interest, the pentagons lifting the ban on women in submarines. While I am sure there are many women out there that might be able to survive extended periods of time underwater (without seeing the sun for a tan, not being able to stroll through the park with their kids, not being able to see or talk to their kids for months, not getting claustrophobic, not getting to take a shower and/or wash their hair every day, and not being able to keep their mouths shut for any length of time) I have not yet met one.
I know I’m probably going to sound chauvinistic through this writing, but I have read the book “Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars”, and it is very true. The sexes are very different in more than just a physical appearance. The thought processes are completely different which makes for possible mistakes during some pretty critical times. While men tend to bond in war and combat situations and can anticipate what their buddy’s next move is, women are not quite that adapt. We just don’t think alike. Men tend to “act now” while women “need to think about it for awhile”.

And then there is just the problem of space.
As one can see, the berthing space is very open. There is no privacy. I don’t think I need to explain the potential problems with that. Now I know the Navy is thinking about this with officers first. However, even in the sub I was on, even the officers shared space. Only the CO and XO had their own private quarters. All the rest of the officers had to share. And on this newest Virginia class sub, there are 14 officers. That’s at least 12 officers that are going to share spaces with each other.
But I think that the most important problem these sailors will face is morale. Those men who are married are going to have a time trying to convince their wives nothing is going on – especially when they are away for months at a time. Same with married Waves. And the single sailors are really going to be hard pressed to keep their hands to themselves. With tight quarters, shipmates are always rubbing against each other – just to get through the passageways. The comradely of slapstick jokes and punches will not go well with the feminine gender. I have yet to meet a woman that likes to be punched on the shoulder or swatted on the butt or pinched on the nipple. They’ll have to get used to it. (Maybe not the officers, but one day the non-coms will.) When I was in, the waves did not like arbitrarily being touched. Only during romantic involvement did they allow handholding or more. I don’t see that having changed over the years.
All in all, I just see this as a big potential problem. Men tend to protect women when they are around without expecting women to help. Buddies work together for the cause of the “all”. Women are going to be a big distraction for many of the sailors. While they need to be focused on their respective jobs, they’re going to have this distraction constantly around them.
And then there’s this other issue. Women are constantly trying to infiltrate and dominate the man’s world. (I haven’t seen men trying to infiltrate or dominate the women’s world.) Submarines are one of the last refuges man has. Because of so-called “equal rights” men can’t even have their own men’s club anymore. Boy Scouts are being sued because little Susie wants to be a Boy Scout. Never mind she could be a Girl Scout. I’m still not comfortable with women running the world. I shudder every time I think of Hillary and Nancy. I sure wouldn’t want either of them in my submarine!
I really think the pentagon needs to rethink this. Women and submarines just don’t mix.

Chris Simcox ends his campaign for U.S. Senate

"I’m writing you today to let you know that I've decided to end my campaign for U.S. Senate and join forces with Former Congressman J.D. Hayworth in his primary challenge to defeat Amnesty advocate John McCain.
Last April I made the decision to challenge John McCain because his votes for bailouts and open borders confirmed what so many of us knew to be true. He has been in office for far too long, and he is not interested in defending American values.
And a lot has changed since then. The bad news is that the Obama Administration has taken us to the brink of destruction. But the good news is that the people of this country have woken up!"

And the time is ripe for a new MINUTEMAN REVOLUTION!

February 18th 2010 (via email) There are small signs of improvement. When I get a little more time I can elaborate. I have been so swamped with calls and emails and more. After all, he is the voice for Sid Roth's "It's Supernatural", a program about miracles. Thank you all for caring so much. We have had calls from literally all over the world with love for Richard. There has been little information since my visit to Richard Ward yesterday at Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City Kansas. Kathy, their son Richard Jr., Richard Ward’s brother from the east coast and his sister in-law were keeping a vigil. Richard Ward; (I use his first two names, don’t know why but I always have) was lying in the Coronary Intensive Care unit on a respirator. Fatherly was apparently in a coma, resulting from a heart attack and fall at his home. The information I have was there was no respiration for approximately twenty minutes. A brain scan of some sort was scheduled for last evening but as of this writing there is no information I can report. If you have ever listened to radio or watched TV you have heard his voice, around here he is the master of voice-overs. BB
Click on arrow below to see one of Fatherly's TV commercials from from the last election cycle. Paid for with Richard Ward's own funds.

Letters to the editor from The Kansas City Star

Sanchez column
On February 11, Mary Sanchez wrote yet another column criticizing my efforts to reduce illegal immigration. Castigating Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, Sanchez asks what I was doing standing beside him at a press conference recently.
I have been assisting Sheriff Joe by providing legal counsel and training to his deputies.
>snip< Why am I helping Sheriff Joe? Because he believes our immigration laws ought to be enforced, and he cares enough to ensure that his deputies scrupulously observe the limits of their authority. If only we had more sheriffs like him.

Deputies To Receive Training

Sheriff: Big Change in Immigration Enforcement on how not to racially profile.
Updated: Tuesday, 09 Feb 2010, 5:49 AM MST
Published: Monday, 08 Feb 2010, 5:32 PM MST

PHOENIX -- Sheriff Joe Arpaio held a press conference Monday afternoon to announce some big changes in the way he enforces immigration laws.
The sheriff is under investigation by the Justice Department for racial profiling, and has taken heat for his crime suppression sweeps. But Arpaio still says he won't back down, despite the fact the government has stripped some of his power from him.

MCSO has hired a professor of immigration law, Kris Kobach, to lead the training. He says that deputies have the inherent authority to detain suspected illegal immigrants.

Missouri Bill Ties Drug Testing To Welfare

BY JUANA SUMMERS
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
JEFFERSON CITY — Welfare recipients in Missouri would have to undergo drug testing under legislation expected to hit the state House floor this week.
Supporters of the proposal say the state shouldn't subsidize drug use. But critics say the law targets the poor and that the state's drug treatment programs already have lengthy waiting lists, leaving few options for people who want to get clean.
Applicants for the state's welfare program who tested positive for drug use would be ineligible to receive benefits for some time under the proposal, at most three years. However, other family members would still be eligible for assistance through a third-party provider.  (Thanks Roger)

Kris Kobach describes on Glenn Beck's TV show how Obama's sham administration is getting around Congress by setting administrative rules to gut enforcement measures.

Backdoor taxes to hit middle class.

(Don't bother to click on the above 'Terri Cullen' Reuters took it down four hours after publication)
NEW YORK (Reuters.com) --The Obama administration's plan to cut more than $1 trillion from the deficit over the next decade relies heavily on so-called backdoor tax increases that will result in a bigger tax bill for middle-class families.
>snip<  If the provisions are allowed to expire on December 31, the top-tier personal income tax rate will rise to 39.6 percent from 35 percent. But lower-income families will pay more as well: the 25 percent tax bracket will revert back to 28 percent; the 28 percent bracket will increase to 31 percent; and the 33 percent bracket will increase to 36 percent. The special 10 percent bracket is eliminated.
