Rich Nadler Dead At 60

By Jack Cashill
It hurts to write this.

Rich Nadler's wife Barbara called to tell me that the man she "loved so much" died suddenly at home, Saturday, May 30, likely either of a stroke or of a heart attack. He was 60 years old. Those who know Rich know what a fearsome fighter he was for conservative causes.
If there was a smarter person in Kansas City, or a better informed one, or a more passionate one, I have not met him.
To his credit, Rich was not afraid to get in the face even of his friends if he disagreed with you, as he did famously with most of us on the amnesty issue. About a year ago, Phyllis Schlafly called and asked me to resign from a board I sat on with Rich because of his outspokenness on this issue. As I told her, "If you knew Rich the way I did, you would not even ask this question."
We will honor Rich at Zenith on Wednesday June 3 in addition to our regular program. Check Zenithboosters.com for updates on arrangements. An orthodox Jew, Rich will likely be interred in St. Louis, where he was from. Barbara does not use the Internet. I will post all contact information for her on the Zenith site as I get it.
Thanks
Jack

The photo of Rich I shot on September 25, 2008 at the Johnson County Kansas Central Library . I and several other Minutemen were participating in a focus group on “The Challenges of Immigration”. Most of the young people were from Olathe South High School for class credit and were by and large opposed to open borders.
Rich Nadler surprised me that evening by his view on illegal immigration.

I personally knew Rich only slightly but admired his (mostly) conservative views since he was a panelist on the original “Ruckus” program on KCPT TV Kansas City. With his ever present clip board and manor of presenting his view point one could not help but to find him endearing. Richard Nadler was truly unique.

Sonia Sotomayor 'La Raza member'?

Once again Billy Blogger is covering his own,,, (blog) by saying this is unconfirmed by BB but when World Net Daily reports a story it usually will only be a matter of time it’s published by the main stream media. Yes boys and girls the main stream media comment is tongue in cheek (big bulge in cheek).

As President Obama's Supreme Court nominee comes under heavy fire for allegedly being a "racist," Judge Sonia Sotomayor is listed as a member of the National Council of La Raza, a group that's promoted driver's licenses for illegal aliens, amnesty programs, and no immigration law enforcement by local and state police.

Below is a link to the (in my opinion), racist, partially publicly funded (tax dollars) La Raza.

President George H. W. Bush: What have you done?

Allow me to tell you of your nomination of a New York woman lawyer to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. In 1991 and she was confirmed in 1992, later, as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, New York (thank you Bill Clinton) your appointee of 17 years ago has been reversed by the court on which she is apparently going to sit something like 80% of the time with one more being considered; Ricci v. DeStefano (New Haven fire department).

And Now For One Of Our Own

If you Missouri (legal) residents voted for Claire McCaskill to represent you in the United States Senate, how's that working out for you so far. Take a look at your senator who will "shepherd" that judge through the perils of the senate nomination process.

Little New in Obama's Immigration Policy

By Spencer S. Hsu
Washington Post Staff Writer
>snip<
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has announced only one formal change from Bush administration policy: limiting controversial raids at workplaces. Under the new policy, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) investigators must give priority to prosecuting employers and can arrest workers only when officials have secured indictments, warrants or a commitment by prosecutors to target managers first.

This Could Fall Under The Heading Of: SAY WHAT?

New health care insurance laws go into effect todayAmericans now have more protection against health insurance discrimination based on personal genetic information.
Part of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 becomes effective today.
That means:
* Insurance companies are prohibited from basing coverage eligibility or adjusting premium costs on the basis of DNA tests.
* Insurance companies are banned from asking policy applicants to undergo genetic testing or screening.
Later this year -- on Nov. 21 -- another aspect of the law will go into effect, covering employers. At that time, employers will be prohibited from using genetic information to deny employment and will be prohibited from collecting employee's genetic information without explicit consent.

Network of satellites could begin to fail as early as 2010

It has become one of the staples of modern, hi-tech life: using satellite navigation tools built into your car or mobile phone to find your way from A to B. But experts have warned that the system may be close to breakdown.
US government officials are concerned that the quality of the Global Positioning System (GPS) could begin to deteriorate as early as next year, resulting in regular blackouts and failures – or even dishing out inaccurate directions to millions of people worldwide

It hasn’t been in the news lately with all that’s going on in Washington, you know, Iraq, Guantanamo and then there’s Nancy Pelosi stepping in it and then out of her trunk of excuses pulling out one after another; have we seen the last of this Speaker of the House.

“The Fence”!
It’s still there, still being built on our southern border, still only one piece in this game of illegal entry into our country.
A friend was traveling in the area last month when he came across construction and noticed a formidable looking barrier being erected close to the northern Mexican border namely the Rio Grande. The photos are Glenn’s and we thank him for it.

Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the Ame rican people.'

Obama Eliminates Funds For INCARCERATION Of Illegal Aliens

President Obama is picking a fight with California and other states over funding for the costs of imprisoning illegal immigrants, while dodging a battle with the National Rifle Association and its allies over a sensitive gun control issue.
The budget plan Obama released Thursday would zero out the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program, under which states got $400 million in the current fiscal year to cover the costs of housing convicts and pre-trial detainees who are illegally in the U.S >Thanks Roger<

Urban chicken movement taking roost in KC area

Chickens could be coming to roost in a backyard near you.
By JOE LAMBE
The Kansas City Star
Across the country and the metropolitan area, people are joining the national urban chicken movement, sometimes turning outlaw to raise the birds.
>snip<
In Mission, the City Council recently sent to committee a proposal to change its law to allow urban chickens. Jerritt Dayhoff requested the change because her family would like to raise five or six chickens. She is a former Jackson County public defender who grew up on a farm, she said.
>>>>><<<<<
You want to keep chickens do you? Careful what you wish for because those little clucking critters will attract other critters like; raccoons, opossum, mice & rats plus the legendary old red fox. Don’t think we don’t have those demons of the night in cities? I have photos taken with my ‘stealth’ camera of an opossum’s tail, raccoon and that stealthy red fox.
Kids really need to be supervised closely when there are chickens close by; salmonella is a threat and should be considered before introducing chickens into an urban area. Conyers Kills ACORN Probe

Some coincidences live in infamy
By Matthew Vadum
The House Judiciary Committee chairman's May 4 statement exonerating ACORN couldn't have come out at a worse time. "Based on my review of the information regarding the complaints against ACORN, I have concluded that a hearing on this matter appears unwarranted at this time," Conyers said in a statement aired that night on CNN's "Lou Dobbs."

Kansas City Star E-Front Page

I always look forward to Sunday mornings; do some chores, fix coffee and head to the end of the driveway to get the paper.
The Kansas City Star is having problems like most newspapers, readership is down as is advertising; the Star’s management feels the need to raise prices and downsize the product. My take is the Star needs reduce the price not increase it and try something new, anything (almost anything that is).
As I approached the paper near the street I was disappointed (again) at the size lying there in it’s plastic wrapper. I pour my coffee, sit down and pick up the front section; an hour and a half later I finish, not the entire paper mind you just section ‘A’. Has the Star changed management? Nope, just several excellent well researched and written pieces and in particular a slap at one of their untouchables.

7 Pa. ACORN Workers Charged In Voter Fraud

Seven Pittsburgh-area ACORN workers were charged with falsifying voter registration forms, with six accused of doing so to meet the group's alleged quota system before last year's general election.

The one defendant not charged with either of those crimes told police he filled out at least 100 voter registration cards in his own name, even though he was already registered and knew it was illegal. National Crime Information Center (NCIC)

Last night at an auction in Shawnee Kansas I met a gun store owner and naturally the conversation turned toward the 2nd Amendment, guns, ammunition and the legally carrying of a concealed hand gun.
This gentleman besides owning a gun store is qualified to teach CCW classes for both Kansas & Missouri which he does every weekend. There’s nothing particularly unique about this except he supplies both weapons & ammunition for the shooting qualification
Normally I’ll fact check everything that goes into this forum; I tried to this time too, without success (yet).
My new friend told us his business was good and the sale of firearms ‘brisk’ which means his calling into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) for permission to complete the sale of a gun was also vigorous. However, he noticed that more than the usual number of applications called in was being put on hold by NCIC.
Why?
You might be surprised if you ask the question ‘why’ particularly when you ask it of a person who could give you an answer; my gun store owner friend apparently did just that of a women on the other end of the phone at NCIC when another applicant was put on hold.
According to the information given by the unnamed female of NCIC; every fifth application is being held up’, why our gun shop owner asked, the answer came as a surprise from the NCIC lady on the other end she didn’t know why but ‘it came from higher up’.
I’ll keep digging for corroboration.

Red Flag Rules On Identity Theft Cancelled Again

Red flag rules on identity theft take effect soon
Contract Language. By Steven M. Harris, AMNews contributor. Posted March 30, 2009.
Effective May 1, many physicians will be required under federal law to assist the government in detecting, preventing and mitigating "red flags" of identity theft.
The Federal Trade Commission implemented the so-called red flag rules, which impose certain duties on financial institutions and creditors with the goal of curtailing the growing issue of consumer identity theft. Follow like above for more of the story.
