Graves' position on Cuba is scrutinized

A Blogger by necessity are a parasitic group; Okay I admit that but in our sucking the media’s story we might be able to show another side.

The Kansas City Star this morning ran a ‘gottcha’ story built around anti Cuban money and our northland Congressman Sam Graves, or it would appear so. This is a link to just part of the rest of the story. /www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE5AF0S220091116

WASHINGTON
Republican Rep. Sam Graves, a farmer from a rural northwest Missouri congressional district, was once a consistent supporter of easing trade and travel restrictions on Cuba.

But a campaign watchdog group said he began accepting campaign contributions from an anti-Castro, pro-trade embargo political action group and eventually reversed field on Cuba.  (From the KC Star)

(snip) The shift began with the Democratic takeover of Congress in 2006 and picked up speed after the inauguration of President Barack Obama, according to the report by Public Campaign, a non-partisan organization that aims to reduce the role of interest groups in U.S. politics.
(snip) The U.S.-Cuba Democracy Public Action Committee (PAC), an anti-Castro group, donated overwhelmingly to Republicans when it was launched in 2004, but in the past year 76 percent of its donations went to Democrats , the report said.  http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE5AF0S220091116
